In Outlook 2013 and later, you can configure Message Preview to show 1, 2 or 3 lines of preview text for all messages.
This option has been removed since Outlook 2013 and now you can only configure whether the Message Preview should be shown for none or all of your messages. You can configure for which items a Preview should be shown. Tab View-> button View Settings-> button: Other Settings… How do I make it return to normal, where when a message is clicked on in the list, I can see the whole message immediately.
Now when you delete or file email messages, Outlook will automatically advance to the next most recent item. My Outlook has stopped showing me entire messages in the preview pane but rather these half previews with a yellow screen. In the dropdown menu, select open the previous item. Scroll down to the very bottom of the screen. Im not sure if this option will be available in Outlook 2016 as there is no documentation stating this.
